The Use of Games in Learning Grammar

Grammar acquisition is viewed as crucial to language acquisition. However, there is much disagreement as to the effectiveness of different approaches for presenting vocabulary items. Moreover, learning grammar is often perceived as a tedious and laborious process. From teaching experience one might have noticed how enthusiastic students are about practicing language by means of games. It is believed that grammar games are not only fun but they help students learn without a conscious analysis or understanding of the learning process while they acquire communicative competence as second language users. I like your article very much! I think we should use games in learning grammar constructions. Due to this students can learn easier and get interested in material. Everyone will participate in learning process with pleasure.

Irene, I agree with you completely! I'm sure that games help to make the material seem more simple and learning more interesting and exiting. It will surely motivate students in learning the language and make them feel relaxed and confident. As for me, I am also fond of different language teaching games, I think they are great!!
